A short tutorial on panning automation. Panning is moving a sound from the one speaker to another from left to right or vice versa.

You noted something about a potential problem with tracks that are recorded in stereo. NFX probably already knows this but you can solve this by turning the stereo separation knob hard right, which will make it so the left and right channels are the same (like mono). The knob is on the mixer below the 8 insert effects slots. This is also useful if you find that you have too many stereo tracks taking over the mix.

If you turn the knob left, I think it makes the difference between the left and right channels more apparent.

(in the forums it looks like the right edge of everything (posts, videos, etc are cut off. My browser is Internet Explorer and that's probably the problem.)

Hey Thanks! I was really excited when I discovered the stereo seperation knob. The neat thing about it is that you can make something "almost mono" if you want, since it's a knob and not a... button.  The knob thing helps because if you got something being "very stereo" you can tone it down a little but still keep some of the stereo-ness. On the other side, you can make it even "more stereo".

Also, while there's not many rules in music production, I've definitely heard of  people having all their drum samples in mono. It does make sense and probably helps the mix.
