| Could someone PLEASE tell me how this is layed out!
For example if somebody wants a beat to be 3 16 Bar Verses, 8 Bar Chorus or 4 16 Bar Verses, 8 Bar Chorus how is this layed out? BTW I use FL Studio 7.
Thanks in advance!!! | | | |

| Wow.. what? How can you be making beats and not understand that?!
A bar is a measure of music. In hip hop that's going to be 4 beats. So it just needs the verse to be 16 bars long.. and the chorus to be 8 bars long.. and there needs to be 4 verses. Can't really explain it more than that... | | | |

you want a template for a beat? well, you could go...
4 Bar Intro
16 Bar Verse 1
8 Bar Chorus
16 Bar Verse 2
8 Bar Chorus
16 Bar Verse 3. (repeat again for verse 4 and another chorus)
8 Bar Chorus X2 (or not X2)
than 4 Bar Outro. Or fade out from the chorus, repeating endlessly.
It really doesnt matter what program u use. Its basically the same thing

| yeah i agree with Crysiss here. all my artist's i produce for usually follow the same layout, and its also how i make majority of my beats. but some sometimes i like to open with a 4 bar loop/melody, 4 or 8 bars used from the chorus (for like adlibbing/shout-outs or intro chorus/hook) n then follow the rest of the template explained by Crysiss. also, i agree with Borbus. how can you produce and not understand how to lay out a simple request? dont take that as an insult, but more or less constructive criticism | | "If a musician could say what he wanted with words, then what would he say with his music?" | |

| | Are you serious? U better learn your bar system fast, cuz. I thought bar systems were 2nd nature to producers. | | | |

| Or for rnb.. Usually the amount of bars for the verses are shorter.. 4 to 8 bar intro 8 - 12 bar verse 4 - 8 bar chorus Verse chorus 4 - 8 hook chorus X2 Outro | | myspace.com/btproductions07

| man why do you have templates for a rapsong? when i produce a song i just write my lyrics and make the beat so long that it fits to my lyrics i dont like to have a limit on what i can say before the chorus comes | | | |

| really if the artist is working with the producer, the best way is, the producer work around the verse, as far as the breakdowns and chorus...But if the beat is being sold or whatever, its always best to have an intro then 16 bars for the verse, then the hook....or at request of the artist...also there is alot of people who dont know what a bar actually is, but everybody at some point didnt know, lets remember that instead of jumpin down throats... | | my bars are like broad swords so consider me a lyrical blacksmith.... | |

| | i know a guy that makes beats that has no idea about anything. He makes them at like 160bpm to 220bpm or whatever, and then just puts everything in half as much. I can't convince him of why he should switch. he has no idea what a bar really is or anything to do with pitch or anything technical, just puts notes in the step sequencer. Suprisingly he makes some decent sounding beats | | | |

| | Yeah, I got a dude and makes heat that put me on to fl7. everything he makes is at 140bpm. But as long as you have "structure". do what works for you. watch out for bad habbits. and get more than 3 opinions. | | | |

| | well the way i see it here is that the reason to have a template it's a way to sell your beat... thats just what they call a beat maker. but a producer works with the artist and make arranges as the song goes along. | | | |
