Sometimes simple recording/playback problems can be solved by using the Windows Sound Mixer. For example, you might not get any sound to record using the microphone because your Windows Mixer is set to use a low volume or muted microphone. This tutorial shows you where to look for various Windows Mixer

yeah ims tillt ryna figure out why my mic in selecte din the recording controles but my pc records every thing that comes through my head phones evenw hen the mic

Very nice. Only problem I have is finding a proper level for them all. Not too uncommon to find myself constantly adjusting volume settings ever since I got into FL-I'll discover a song sounds too quiet or-man, confusing. Would you say your default settings are good ones in general?
