yeah melodyne is a major step forwared for pro-tools
but of course, with every revolution comes debate
personally, im for melodyne
theres alot of people out there who cant sing like ish (like msyelf) and want to but dont want it sounding to 'robotic' like the growing trend in todays mainstream music, the auto-tune app
the reason i love melodyne is because it keeps that integrity of the performance, to the naked ear it sounds natural and nobody will ever know its all tech
but it does make me wonder if half the people in todays, or even yesteryears music industry, actually can sing when us nobodies can get our hands on this
......aaaah who knows lol

Melodyne is a beast, if you don't have it get it. Especially if you make use of many samples. I actually used it put several random samples for a whole song in the same key.

yeah kookiephoneix brings up a good point
melodyne can be used for anything really
getting samples in tune, and if they have drums in em you can get em to hit on time as well so they dont conflict with the drums you lay over it
its an asbolute musthave for all producers and beatmakers

change it to percussive mode and slide em
you can still do it in melodic too actually, just cut and stretch

Melodyne is quite easy to use(well for correcting pitch) but I suck at using it. I used to use it for my vocals(but it can be used for almost anything) but it was very hard for me to get it on the right pitch and everything so i switched to autotune. I don't like the robotic/cher/t-pain noise it makes but it makes me sound beautiful haha
