| Templates are a real timesaver. Imagine being able to load that East Coast Kit or Club Kit with ease. In addition to loading your samples, templates can load predefined Mixer chains/setups. All it takes is a little preparation and you're set.

| It's there. You need Windows Media Player 9 or greater and you must allow for activeX to see it. | | | If you find this site useful, please consider making a donation. | |

| thanks man! awesome tutorial, you just saved me a bunch of time when I open FL. but one thing tho, this tutorial could have really been less than a minute long; it wasn't really that much information, i gotta admit I almost fell asleep. I have a good friend over at videocopilot.net his video tutorials can really inspire you and help you be a better video editor and artist. | | | |

| very helpful! This way you'll be ready when inspiration hits and then you can customize (add dirt/layers, if you want to) for each track. I've made a couple kits but I didn't know how to make it a template until this.
Thank you! | | | |

| I started expanding on my usage of templates. Basically what I do is I'll create a template based on a theme, let's say for example "grimey." So then I what I do is I go through my samples and find the 6 grimiest kicks, snares, hats, and other drums and I'll make a template with them. Then, the next time I want to make a grimey track, I can open my grimey drum template (I call it "TheGrimee" for fun), and then I have 6 of every drum element to choose from, layer, or I can grab a different sample but it makes a great starting point. Of course I'm probably not going to use all of the samples I have in the template, so I'll delete the ones I don't use.
And then I have one for Crunk, Dramatic, and I'm going to make more of course but this way I don't have to organize my samples by "genre", I can keep 'em in big "kick, snare, hat," folders. | | | |
