I would say I got into hip hop when I heard Eminem's "Hi, My Name Is" 10 years ago. How could you not fall in love with that song? But still to this day I'm not very involved with hip hop besides creating it. I strive to be in a rock band but until then I produce hip hop because it's easier to do alone than it is to create solid rock tracks alone. And the reason I don't listen to a ton of hip hop is a combination of the lack of stimulating material that I hear, and that I like to keep my rock influence strong by not filling my head with hip hop, then applying it to the hip hop I produce in hopes that it will give me an original sound.
