07 Nov 2009 07:30 AMEmbarrassed about hip hop?

Does anyone here know this feeling?

like, im not easily embarrassed you know, i stay myself at all times and do a good job doing so.people are always telling me how different and 'real' i am, stuff like that. and i dont get embarrassed about nothing that has to do with me, my personality, or what i believe in.

like, ill be with a girl and im not trying to look tough at all or w/e, im just being myself,

but THE MINUTE she asks me what i do in my spare time/what kind of education i do/what i want for a career, i just get embarrassed as hell. because i know that when i tell her i want to be a musician she'll be like ''Aww another one of those idiots who think they got talent'', but even worse a hip hop producer, thats gonna be even worse ''aww another one of those a milli idiots who think their oh so gangsta bla bla bla''. and i basically end up telling them like a really blurry message about me wanting to do 'something' with music and change the topic.

i mean really, 2 years ago if someone would come up to me saying they wanted to be a beatmaker or whatever, i know i'd think that way about em. so this embarrasses me cause im not trying to give anyone the wrong impression about me.

just some incredibly random thoughts again.. anyone can relate to this?

A lot of people hide what their dream is, like me I want to ba a movie director (LOL right?) but when people ask what I want to be I always say I want to be "something in the movie business" whitch would also be cool. so yes I can kinda relate
please -=Rate My Beat=- its a new one :)

I feel ya man. Im not sure yet, but music is the most important thing in my life now, so I think that I will go to a musicproduction school thing, eventhough Ill do an economic study first (I have to be able to get a nice job when I suck as a musician ) but when people ask me what I wanna do, I also just tell em the economic thing, but thats partly cuz im not sure yet (were talking 4/5 years in the future eh ), but partly because of the same thing you feel SP. I think you should just explain to em that youre not some kind of 'gangsta'/'a milli idiot', but that you do it for the love of music. THen you let her listen to J Dilla, and she will be all yours ^^

(If she thinks that Dilla is gangsta music on the other hand, you WILL. HAVE. TO. KICK. HER. OUT. AT. ONCE.)

Ye, people with no knowledge about underground hiphop artists and ish think Hiphop is all about Flo-rida and T.I. and who-ever gets on MTV. But I guess thats why they are mainstream.

Ahh that's the thing, up until a while ago we were quite against hip hop but lately we've had a surge of Australian hip hop. Hilltop Hoods, Biss n Eso, Bluejuice, The Herd. The major change between this Aussie hip hop and all other stuff is it's more relavent to Australia an people relate to it. For the record very few Ghetto's in Australia and other things that get mentions in the rest of the world hip hop so the general population but now with our own style it has really hit the mainstream.

TO me SP this could lead to a sort of stagnation in your progress as a musician, it is like your a super hero but you cannot tell anyone because they will not believe you and thinK you buggin or it is a long shot

on the other hand you want to be sociable. For what it is worth i think that if you are real as you say you are then keep it real let it out and if a mofo or hoe don't respect what you do... then guess what she ain't the one for you.

If you trying to move forward in your love for ya craft then you don't need this kinda distraction. DO YOU AND BE YOURSELF, broads come a dime a dozen and when a joint (broad) see you coasting by in the latest (benz, bm, flying spur) after she thought you were buggin'... She will wanna hop back on the DTRAIN ha ha.

Don't be embarassed for what you do because you are second guessing yourself, second guessing your talent because of what someone else thinks.

So in reality this may not be what you wanna do. and once you start wanting to do what will make others happy and not yaself, YA LOST HOMIE, YA LOST.

I get deep afta i been drinkn take it for what it is worth. FOCUS MAN, FOCUS

LOL @ SP... You ain't noo balllerr nigguhhh hahahaha x) ...

Gettin' embarrassed n'ish hahaha.. You lil'girl =P..

slliks had really good points and I agree with him all the way..

Eventhough errrr'body making beats nowadays.. When a girl asks me what I wanna become and I start talking about music.. They ALWAYS like it.. They immediately see my drive and that *magic spark* in my eyes..

It's all about the way you bring it.. One time a girl was just loving me for the way *I spoke about music* .. She was just staring and smiling.. I mean girls LOVE IT when you have a goal in your life and they can see the energy and drive bursting from your aura hehe ...

I NEVER start about my music untill someone asks bout' *my hobbies* or if someone else that I know starts about it to an unknown person.. but when I start spittin'... hahahaha sonnnn I bring the game home..

And I dress myself like a gangstah to even bring it further for ya .. That's my style.. Baggy ish all the way nuccah.. but they still love it.. If you real, just be yourself like slliks said..

Damn I never expected this from you SP.. I can tell you still a young cute lil'puppy hahaha

Imme give you something simple to linger over regarding girls..

Think about what I'm trying to say with that...

^LOL TI hahahahahaha niggu trust me i aint lackn in the women department

and most of the time i do end up telling them everything about i cause they tend to keep asking questions

all im saying is, i hate that ''stereotype hip hop musician'' that gets stamped on your forehead as soon as you bring it up.

i understand where slliks is comin from, aside from the drunk talk, you got some points there.. never really thought of it as something that could cloud my creativity.. imma be more open about it then i guess.

and really LOL TI you needa get off that internet thuggin hahahahaha you funny as hell main xDD
