Well...Apparently my father things that if i upload any of my music anywhere (warbeats, imeem, youtube) someone will steal it, and we have to get it "copyrighted". Personally, I dont think my dad knows jacksh*t about what hes saying, but he continually asks me to make him a cd of my music so he can 'listen' to it. I told him I havent made it yet, so he goes on a tirade about how I show everyone in the world my music but him, and hes so sure that I will get my music stolen, so I just deleted all of m songs from this website, along with any other. I was hoping to build a reputation here and make friends with you all, but so much for that. Anyways, that doesnt mean I'm leaving since this website got me to where I am now, I just wont be posting up any more songs.

Even though I'm young, im not just ignoring my dad without a reason. I know there are ways to download from youtube/imeem, and I know there are people that will steal my music, its just that he believes I dont know anything about what I'm doing, so Ill be in the background of this website, lol.

But Its not as bad as it looks, I might get my own website soon, I might be getting signed to a label this year, and I have relations with people who know many major artists at such an early age, so if anything big happens, ill be sure to let you all know.

By the way, I'm 14.

Haha my dad is just worried about the viruses we could be getting from all my music stuff. Don't think he really thinks much of my music. At least not till I find a singer.

Damn thats ridiculous. Not putting music up coz you dont want it stolen? So you just gonna make music that no-one gets to listen to? It's all flipped backwards.
Make music so that people can hear it. The intention of copyright is to protect yourself. Yea people stealing your music, but as long as there not making money off it its cool imo. You know we allllll download music here, you dont see any artists going "im gonna stop making music till people stop listening to it!".

And wrt to your father hearing your things, I feel ya, its embarrasing. Just tell your dad that the music you make isnt what he likes, n that you aint that good etc and u embarrassed to have him hear it. he'll understand

Pops is looking out for you like any good dad should.

There is always a risk of someone stealing your beats. In reality it's not that common a beat is stolen and millions of dollars are made off it.

Tagging your beats is one way of protection. Using soundclick can be a good way to establish when you made the beat so if it jacked you can go back and say, I uploaded that to SC two years ago! and people can go and see for themselves. I don't know how much legal authority that has, but it's really about can you prove it.

This is not legal advice, just my opinion.

Your dad is more concerned with hearing what his son spends all his time on, it is embarrasing pushing hip hop or dance music to people who arn't used to it.

I kinda have the same problem with my parents, my mom actually, my father doesn't give a flying seven forty seven funk about what I'm doing, as long as I do what he thinks I'm supposed to. The difference is my mom keeps asking me to let her listen to my stuff, not to delete it. But I think in the meantime she did listen to some tracks (they're on the i-net for Christ's sake!)
The end.

My advice? PUT BACK EVERYTHING, but with a tag on. Period.
If you wanna succeed do like Nas did:
Kill This is what haters get! Because Full Of ish This is how I know they're full of ish!
Jedi Fighting the dark forces of bad music since 2004.
