What up, I go by SoalaJohn. I'm a hip hop beatmaker, I've been making beats for about half a year. Really, I popped in here to introduce myself to Warbeats.com. I joined Warbeats.com so I can improve my beatmaking abilities and learn about what's popular in the industry. My goal is to make a living out of music production, but currently I'm just having fun with what I'm doing, learning more about how to make better beats. I listen to various genres of music... Anything that I like basically. The Genre's I listen to the most are alternative rock, hip hop, R&B and most subgenres of funk. As far as being influenced by Hip Hop Producers, my biggest Influences are Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Scott Storch and Jim Jonsin. I'm currently immitating their styles as I'm immitating the style of other producers that I like. And that's who I am. Finally, I'm interested in learning more about popular elements to put in beats. If you can, please comment this giving me advice or elements that are popular in current hip hop beats.

Regarding which elements are popular in nowadays hiphop is a very 'wide' question.. You need to narrow it down to subgenres in hiphop..
