In this tutorial I show you (and explain why) my method of getting an acapella ready for the mix. This tutorial is intended mostly for those acapellas you work on as a collab  with an MC and not commercial quality acapellas.

Great tutorial... i was familiar with the normalizing and compress, but that noise reduction is a neat lil trick.

Thanks

Use Audacity...it's free and has the same noise reduction process that audition uses!

google: audacity

p.s. can't wait for PART II (i didn't know about the compression bit)

Part 2 is "in the can" . Meaning it's done as far as recording, now I have to edit it.

Maybe its in part two havent gotten there yet but the noise reduction thing can all be done in edison, under the tools menu there is an option to capture the noise threshold then you select the audio you want to remove the noise from, go back to the tools menu and select the gate noise feature. Hope this helps someone without adobe, great tutorial though i always forget to do these simple things to my voice.

Great... its probably the code that the person put up for their myspace music that caused the video malfunction.  I can't seem to view it either.  Other vids work fine... So I'm left to believe its that comment with the myspace music.
