| Portmento is cool. You can't do that famous West Coast worm or Dirty South Synth glide without it. | | | If you find this site useful, please consider making a donation. | |

| Great tutorial. I'm curious to find out if the default FL plugins have portamento options. Thanks! | | | |

All Fl plugins have portomento:
Select the sample, then in channel settings click MISC then look for the "porto" button

| completely off topic, but NFX, did you by any chance play the package delivery guy in gremlins 2? because you sound exactly like him haha.
another great tutorial. wish i could benefit more from this. as i've mentioned before, i make synth metal, and my little buddy FL slayer doesn't support portamento or even piano roll slides. its very discouraging. i could always use a pitch bend, but they're so much harder to use. | | | What a horrible night to have a curse...

| scratch that. i can't even do pitch bends with slayer. how in the hell do you slide then??? i know it can be done, i've heard it before through a sample. please dont tell me this was a slayer2 exclusive function.
EDIT: SCRATCH THAT AGAIN!! i'm stupid. slayer has it's own pitch wheel right on the plug-in. and rightfully so, considering you can't bend a real guitar to a lower frequency. ok, figured that out. | | | What a horrible night to have a curse...

| Man... This tutorial is great!!! I've always wondered (always = a few days. lol) what the hell Portamento meant and what it is used for... I definitely will use it more often now or at least when creativity permits in spite of this tutorial... Thanks yet again NFX for your humble wisdom... Woohoo!!! | | | |

| ive posted a similar thread asking bout portamento or pitch bend..i happen to read FL Bible and its written that portamento can only be functional with FL Plugins..vst etc. But it cant be use with 3rd party plugins..ive a couple of known VSTi installed in my fl 7 such as native pro-53 ,Arturia products..i'm getting a midi keyboard soon..it has a pitch bend and also fully functional piano keys..but knowing FLStudio doesnt support portamento with those VSTi..its a disappointment..a big dissapointment..but does anyone knows how we can counter this problem? | | | |

Most software synths have a portamento setting as well - it just doesn't use the portamento setting in the vst wrapper.
