Boonie Mayfield a/k/a Boon Doc grabs another sample from a smooth jazz record and flips it into a simple yet intoxicating boom-bap track. Just relaxing and having fun while making good music.

What is/was the tempo setting of your sampler when you composed that (dope) beat? The beat itself seems to be at 93-4 bpm but the clicks on your sampler's count-in were double that (187 bpm).

That^ is prob my fave Doon Doc video (either that one or the one where he chops up the Ahmad Jamal piano samples).

Biggup Boon Doc! You are a real inspiration.

Thanks for the great tutorial.  The beat came out tight, Ican hear Raheem Devaughn, Erykah Badu or Jill Scott singing on it.  I can hear that on the radio.  Thx again for the inspiration.

boonz sick... i feel you one not keeping everything on the 1. human's aint robots, so our beats shouldn't always be robotic... this is something I picked up on while watchin some Pharrel studio sessions... this is intellectual, real hiphop.
