Actually you cant do it that way. You need to have Reason loaded the whole time you want to use Reasons sounds. Once you export the music then you can finally be done with reason and have the music as a WAV of MP3 on your computer

alright sorry i know this post is old... but i had a quick question...

i understand how to rewire, i have successfully made a song with it... however i was very limited on the number of instruments i could use with Reason because certain instruments uses effects and each effect is counted as a channel!

my question is how do i add multiple instruments in Reason without being so limited? (right now i'm thinking my only option would be to track it out aka either do what i need in reason and rewire just the main to fl.... or record each instrument into fl or sound forge and load as a wav/mp3

any other options?

I don't know why you say that every effect in reason needs a new channel. I create for example a subtractor and I can put as many effects as I want and they will go on the same channel as the subtractor. You can use 14 instruments in one 14:2 mixer in reason and send them in FLStudios mixer in individual channels. If you want to use more than 14 instruments in reason, simply create 1 or more mixers.

You don't need 1 channel for every effect. You can use only the main instrument and send it to a channel in FLStudio and use the effects of FLStudio instead of using the effects of reason

Watch my tutorial, you will understand better what I mean, make sure you read the video info/description on the right for more detailed info:
