Most people use the FL Slicer on drum beats because it can chop them up real nice but I like to use it for some creative sample chopping. Just load a loop and go at it.

I've done this a couple of times, and it kinda works. What i find is a problem is adding a matching bassline. Any tips on how to do this? I usually just end up adding a long bassdrum.

Ok, this may sound stupid but how are you recording in fruit loops? Its not something that's come up in my experience. I've tried playing around but I couldn't get it to record the same way you were :/

Edit: Never mind. I'd never used that button next to stop :) I was using "step editing mode" and couldn't figure out why what I was doing was different than you.

thanks gor the info man.
but hey, i just wanted to know how to just take a certain section of a song to sample and then drag and drop that selection into the FL Slicer.
Because everytime i try to follow your tutorial, it drags the whole song.
a little help?

Just create a new file that consists only of the sample. If there's a faster way I'd like to know, but this is what I do.

If i believe correctly you need to first isolate the part of the song you want to use, using another program...like adobe audition.
