Okay, this is awesome...BUT my Fruity Loops works a little different(in a bad way)

Let's say pattern 1 has the Drums
Let's say pattern 2 has the Guitar Riff
Let's say pattern 3 has the Piano

In the playlist, I click Pattern 1(drums), but it has channels for the guitar and the piano, there are no notes set for the guitar or piano, but it's still there

When NFX switches between patterns, all the sounds/channels in the step sequencer change...
When I switch between patterns, every pattern has the same exact channels, so if I delete a Snare in pattern 1, it deletes that snare in pattern 2

If you guys understand what I mean, can somebody help, things get so busy

in FL there is an option to "Auto zip ununsed channels". I think its on Options>General screen.

OK so here it goes by steps:

1) Create beat by putting multiple wav file samples into step sequencer.

2) Switch to playlist-- line up 4 blocks in Pattern 1 to make a short "song."

3) Obviously I want to add variety so I clone or copy and paste pattern 1 into pattern 2 in step sequencer mode so that I can create a slightly different version of pattern 1 without having to recreate pattern 1 step sequencer pattern manually.

4) THE PROBLEM-- when I try to make any alteration to Pattern 2 in step sequencer mode (ie-mute a channel or add more hht beats to an existing hht channel), and then go back to listen to it in the playlist it automatically makes the same alterations changes to the identical channel in Pattern 1, thus leaving me essentially with two of the exact same patterns.

I know that this is a somewhat amateur way of using the program but I am working my way through it and doing it this way has been a good starting point, minus this little glitch. Thanks for any help anyone can lend!

To those who cant see the video, it might be that you have to update your Windows media player, or maybe even your quicktime.  check em both out and check for updates or even install them.  hope that works for you.

I would really like to find out how NFX is using the Zip Selected Channels feature to show only certain instruments in each pattern.

When I zip/unzip channels, they stay zipped/unzipped for every other pattern.

In this video he seems to have which channels are zipped SAVED to each specific pattern, and I cannot figure out how to do this.

I can use the Group Selected Channels feature too but again it displays the same group setting for every pattern until I manually change the group.
