if you already have loop points, then you can toggle the "use loop points" option on and off and this will switch back and forth between the regular sound (which is finite) and the looped sound (which is infinite). in order to get the loop points in there, you can do one of two things. you can either use the built in knob 'crf' (crossfade loop), which is right above the waveform. this will crossfade (wrap the sample into itself) to try to create a loop for you. this isn't an exact science and you have no control over where the loop is. it might work however, if the sound is very constant and regular. the second option is to right click on the waveform picture and choose edit. this will open edison (the FLStudio built-in wave editor). click on 'regions' and select 'set loop' (or click ATL+L). now you have the two red flags appear on both sides. you can slide them into anywhere you want so as to select the part you want to loop. now you can save the file and overwrite it. it seems that the info about where the loop flags are gets saved in the wav file itself. if you reload the sample, you should see them. now toggle 'use loop points' on and you should be able to play the sound infinitely.

FLStudio piano roll (and the little keyboard in the sample window) cannot unlink the speed and the pitch. if you know a little sound theory, you can see that since pitch is the frequency of sound, you can lower the pitch by lowering the frequency. so, by making the wave twice as slow, you lower the pitch by one octave. in order to unlink the two, you must use different controls in FLStudio. in the sample window, you will see that you have a 'time stretching' menu. this has 3 knobs. 'resample' is the option that you don't want b/c it's the same thing that FLStudio piano roll does (keeping speed and pitch linked). what you need is to put it on 'auto' or any other option except for 'resample'. usually 'tonal' for melody and 'pro transient' for drums sound good, but experiment. now move the pitch nob to change pitch. it'll sound funky, but that's because in order to unlink the speed and pitch, you need to change the sound itself. little changes usually sound fine. bigger changes might sound pretty bad. hope this helps.
