| Heres a video where I show you how to use the vocoder in FL Studio. The Vocoder is often used in popular music to make a voice sound robotic and sometimes with a singing quality.
The Vocoder is often confused with a talk-box. As a matter of fact in the tutorial I incorrectly state that Roger Troutman's "More Bounce to the Ounce" was done using a vocoder, when in fact it was a talk-box.
You can still do a very similar effect with the Vocoder and it has many uses to the creative mind.

| To get rid of the dry signal turn down that slider there should be a slider for wet and each track individually. I think they're in the upper right corner | | | |

| You need to route it similar to how the synth sound is routed, insert it into it's own channel, pan it to the left (or right) and route the signal to the channel that is hosting the vocoder. | | | If you find this site useful, please consider making a donation. | |

| I understand that, but my SB Audigy 2 Notebook soundcard continues to play the dry signal just as it does outside of FL. It sounds like the effect is being applied to only a small portion of the input sound I have routed to FL. I have this problem with all effects I apply to a line in routed to FL's mixer. I've tweaked with what seems like every last corner of my computer sound settings for the Audigy sound card and I'm lost as to what's really going on here. Does my Inspiron 1200 laptop have the capacity to run real-time effects? Or is it something else? Either way, the problem is that I can't seem to get the 'entire' input signal to run through my FL mixer. Any insight? | | | This is not an lol matter. | |

| You have to mute the line-in and microphone sliders in the soundcards mixer. You should be able to open that by going Start --> All Programs --> Creative --> Sound Blaster Audigy 2 --> Creative Surround Mixer.
Just look for the sliders which say Line In and Microphone, and click on the little speaker button underneath them. | | | |
