The sample im using comes from K-Ta-Klysm's submission to the warbeats drumkit contest, and can be found in the downloads section.

Great tutorial, knowing how to gate breaks is essential for getting gd drums.

Think this tutorial will be as popular as the Kick booster one!

What about if you wanted to dirty your samples up similar to how RZA did on 36 Chambers?
i.e. static and extra noise pure grimey sampling

How about putting something like, Amplitube on a send, then sending your drums to a portion of that mix ;) that will make it nice and dirty!

This is the EXACT tutorial that I needed for my latest beat. I was just going to live with the dusty vinyl, but this is helping me with getting rid of it. Thank you!

Google iZotope Vinyl ;)

Yooo! GP! You're dissing my samples again, PARTNER?!?

LOL jk

Nice tutorial, but I'd recommend a noise reducer like iZotope RX, Waves Z-Noise, WaveArts Master Restoration, etc. for these jobs. If you listen in headphones, the noise is still there on the drums, so it basically only mutes the signal where it's under the treshold.

I might be doing a vid on proper noise reduction with my great romanian accent LOL

PS: I wanted to make the noise like that, I used some noise reducer I don't remember, and it came up with that woop effect before the drum hit and I thought it was cool so I kept it like that lol

Kill This is what haters get! Because Full Of ish This is how I know they're full of ish!

GP's probably removed it, but basically he had a sample with noise (unwanted) in it. So to clean it:

1. send it to an fx track

2. place a fruity limiter on that track

3. select the noise gate preset

Lol quite an easy way to remove noise, reverb off a sample :)
