I don't run this site anymore, it runs me...

Man.

Somedays it just plain sucks to be responsible for this site.

Don't get me wrong, I love the site to death and the community too.

The problem is that the site is getting to a tipping point and there are many days I just can't keep up.

I havent made a beat in weeks, maybe months. I sure havent touched my MIDI controller or FLStudio for anything but doing a tutorial in over a month.

Every little tweak I make to the site has the potential to break it. And that could mean hours or days of work to get it right again.

I don't know if I should record a tutorial, make a beat, go into chat, check the forum, answer my emails, add all the myspace requests, read the youtube comments, write an article, give some feedback, start a new contest, etc etc etc etc etc etc.

I don't want to sound all down because I'm not really, I just need to vent this for a minute.

Truth is.. Warbeats is one of the best things I have done in my life and I have to thank all of you for giving me so much in the way of support and thanks.

Thanks to the mods and volunteers and contributors. I created Warbeats, but you all have fed and nutured Warbeats and continue to help it grow.

:) There.. now I feel better.

You gotta get back on the beats man.. Play some keys and see what happens.

Music can also be relaxing and stress relieving, so it might help that too..

I love you man! The honesty is something i treasure very highly, and Taylor is so right here too, making music is such a stress reliever. As you well know i almost shut down all my sites, but then went to the doc and got some blood pressure medicine, told everyone to chill out and i went back to music :D I know you say there is no time for it but sometimes you just have to make time. Time for you and yourself.

Yeah i know how it can be frustrated but at the end whan u see what u did in ust fiev years it all make sence.
I was on fiev forums, all went down, or noone visit tham anymore, but i just cant see any way this will happen to warbeats. This is so much more than website and forum. This is comunity. At first u was alone in this but now its like clan or family. I dont see like wb is ur site anymore, its our site and we are proud on what we have even more than u.
Ceap it up, who knows maybe in the future u make Warbeats record label! I wouldnt be suprised

All I can say is that this site is probably one of my favorite places to visit. The tutorials are really helpful to me and overall I feel like I'm learning a ton of stuff. I know video tutorials can take a long time to make and sometimes there comes a point where it gets harder to come out with newer content.

All I can say is take it easy lol and dont feel guilty for chilling back for a few days/weeks/months/as long as it takes. Get refreshed, exposed to new influences, etc., and I'm sure you'll be right back in the game.

I think relating to music, having a dry spell for musicians like us is sometimes one of the most listless and miserable times we experience. (Like when you try to make something, it doesn't come out... etc.)

Sorry to resurrect a post dating a few months ago... but I saw it and had to check it out.

One step at a time. and have some time for yourself. (if you want to add more admins) get help from people that you trust. And just to be real I think that this is the most important website for musicians. This website changed the way that I create music (in just 5 days) imagine how important this website is. But you definetly need more admins.

i can imagine it would be stressful but u do a great job
i see that with homework (no relation to running a web page)
i study like crazy but the end product is an A

wow dont give up you should take half an hour for each thing that way it wont be so bad and leave the tuts for last
i dont know anyone or any site better than warbeats you give the best tuts. heres one to work on rza beat recipe just kidding

I've been in a similar situation and I think you just need to cut out the things you really don't need to do. Writing a list from most important to least important really helped me, try guessing how much time each will take and try to stick to it.

We all appreciate what you do. I taught bass and guitar for years and got burned out until I just do beats for fun now so I know how you feel. Now I do something if I want to (like reviewing beats) and I don't if I don't want to (teaching people who practice 5 minutes a week tops). The funny thing is that I feel like you get better by teaching (rather than leaving moronic thoughtless reviews like some people here) and I think that you have gotten a lot out of all the hard work you have done for everybody, but if you don't put it to use...

All work and no play makes jack a dull boy...

Man, if five months ago I was told that I would be making money off of beats, I wouldn't have believed it. I would still be workin at a second rate job. You have taught me my craft throughout all you have done. I can never be more grateful. Stress is tough, but go to Florida or somethin, to da beaches. We'll still be here.

You may say that we have changed your life, but in reality, no matter how small, you have changed EVERY single member's life on this site. Man, where would all of these people be right now if this site wasn't here? I can tell you this, not making beats as good as they are now.

i love this site and before i knew about it i didnkt know ish about it.
now im one of the best beatmakers in my city and everybody i know is eager to hear more of my beats.
and i owe it all to this site right here.
please, dont spend more time on the site then u want to, you should still be able to do other things as much as you want.
members on this site can wait ;)

PS: If you do have time, could you make a quick announcement when the donation systhem is working again?
i'd really like to contribute.

But please dont give up, this site is amazing, and ive had production in my head for time now, and when i came across your Dre Recipie, that was what made me say to myself i was going to be a producer.

You are my inspiration and influence, your beats are off the hook, and for somone to be so willing to share their talents with the world like you is so rare.

Im sure you are responsible for countless producers ike myself. you helped lot of young producer with this website man, but it doesn't mean that you have to give up your beats! you sould try to see music as a break not as a work. Maybe you will produce worse beat ( yours would be already awesome), but you will feel relaxed.

NFX all you need to do is keep the site extreamly simple, Last time I been here it was simple now you got adds, more drop down boxes, all types of stuff. Why dont you charge pay per view of each tute like $1.00 per video. You have the rep now to make sales. I bought your warbeat dvd library and it came with your signature too. That was $50 bucks. I love it. You should make the warbeat drum kit. Orangized. You cant be free nomore and you must make dividents. The tutes is really what your about. Instead of receiving emails have a Q and A page so in depth. Revise your logo and color scheme for your website.

The website seems laggy to me. I don't know. Your website has great layout and everything is well done. The only thing you should worry about are ddos attacks and script kiddies cracking into your web server and defacing it.
