I do recognize that this has gotta be an expensive site to run, but instead of putting effort into making it look good I would focus on speeding it up. It's pretty much a bitch to navigate this site, but I have to put up with it 'cause hey....I love WB.

NFX:
If upgrading the server to make it faster is too pricey, will you look into making WB more efficient so what we have goes a little farther?

We just upgraded to a brand new server (actually two of them). So I gotta wonder, where are you located, and what type of connection have you?

I'm on the other side of the globe from the server and only thing that is slow for me are the access times. Those cannot really be affected without having a mirror server in europe. Also the ASP database can sometimes be tad slow , but it should be nothing to a point where you feel it's a pain in the ***.

So actually where, how and when is the site slow for you. Without specifics, there's not much we can do. Can you do a traceroute to the server?

I'm located in Arizona, I have a decent cable connection, and just navigating the forums is a slow process any time I access it.
Here is the traceroute, I hope its useful.

The speed of your connection has nothing to do with it (well very little), there is nothing changed on the site except the way the ccontent is displayed, so that cannot account for it getting slow. (there is actually a little less content to load now then there were before.)

The main issues are the times you visit the site and yur ISP's routing to our server. If you visit at a high load time the server might be busy with alot of database queries.

@ WABU BEATS: Your trace route shows a time out on the second hop. That's definetly a issue either in your end or your ISP. You may want to trace route to several different locations in the world and see if the same bottle neck is always there. If so, contact your ISP and whine

I'm located in scandinnavia and I cannot say the access times a re really bothering me. Something that does happen is slow ASP database queries, but that is something we are nor going to get rid of in the near future.
