I Installed the Paltalk program once, and got my girl who was living in tx. 2000 ml away to used it.

Imediatly after installing that nasty little thing, it had infected my computer severely with spyware. Files, scripts, registry keys. The infections were so rampent, was like the computer equivlent of kissing Paris Hilton.

it cause my girl who was using her work computer from the univercity of tx. to have to do a clean install.

Needless to say, I cleaned up the mess and vowed to never ever use paltalk software again.

untill last week , i wanted to see the lounge so i tryed it : dr watson spyware catcher atomaticlly warned me of adware.

so no. even if they made it so there is just little window, that still shows they dont repect peoples need to have a clean computer .

It's a shame though, because I've heard that it's a decent and growing chat community.

Also, I've heard that you can meet girls on the paltalk network easily who will disrobe for you on camera.

Um...that's not why I was interested in it though.

i dont know man, i have good protection software and such but i dont get spyware from this program..

YOU DONT...Thraz...your "dr. watson" is picking it up because there IS registry entries...but so does MSN and so does Yahoo and AIM as well, thats because of the file sharing capabilities....your not getting a virus, spyware, or addware....its a banner..that is contained within the software..you dont get pop ups (typical addware). I use Hitman Pro, probably the best in my opinion, i do scans all the time..NEVER recognizes it as spyware, add ware or anything. But here again...if you uncomfortable......*shrugs*

yes i'm uncomfortable. i dont know how bad it is now but back then it was bad, bad enough to destroy my machine and my girls machine.

msn doesnt change your reg. it comes bundled with windows. yahoo has never compermised my machine, aol has compromised every machine it touches, but aim is pretty good.
look, im not arguing with you guys, do what you want, have fun, wish i could join, but that company cost me (a very poor man ) alot of money, time and software.

these people should not have anything to set of my protection after what happened with their software from 2000-2003 if it weren't for that the would have been a player in the i.m. market now.

also quick a serch online shows that this little banner ad can't be removed until you buy the pro version, even if you remove/uninstall the free version. it wont display, it will just start and take up resorces and do god knows what untill you pay for the upgrade or change the reg.

its Morpheus adware so its not that hard to get rid of but bad enough to piss me off.
