^ and not to mention Collosseus.. That one is major too..
For ethnic sounds look for the VST "Ethno Instrument" by MOTU.. That one is a killer too..
He has Goliath on the list which is the updated version of colossus.

| Nice initiative.. now, your work is to put in front of each VST what it does And maybe organize it in categories ! haha ! ^^ | | | |

| Oh by the way...vanguard is used quite extensively by danja.. it's quite easy to tweak it and make one's own gated synth with it...
As far as mixing is concerned
UAD
Waves (you put it)
oxford
T-rack for mastering
Voxengo elephant
and a few others (Ozone of course but I think you mentionned it)
Baxxpander(free)
jb ferox
Stillwell plugins (not so bad transient designer, i don't like it that much but it's the only one i got)
Have you put Giga studio (dre uses it) ?
otherwise there is most of the thing in there...
oh also on getting on another level people might want some SSl board emulation :
Waves and UAD both made one i think... emulation of the mythic SSL 4000
very good from what I have heard... haven't tried it yet... there is the SSL compressor, channel strips and many other toys to get the sound to the next level..
I would differentiate that from the waves bundles...
you forgot sytrus mayne !!!! ^^ the yellow fruit of fruity loops !

Colossus sucks....has some good sounds but nothing that really got me. Symphonic orchestry is much better. Theres a new one like Colossus i forget the name it contains a wide range of sounds like colossus.
Colossus is a bit pricey but it doesn't suck. Although the sound are really dry and require bit a reverb. Also it is a bit unfair to compare it to Symphonic Orchestra because the two are entirely different products. Colossus is more of a high quality general midi soundbank whereas Symphonic Orchestra is deals solely with orchestral sounds. But even If you were to compare them solely on the basis of out-of-the-box sound quality Symphonic Orchestra stands out because the sounds were recorded to include the hall's ambiance and thus sound "wetter" than the Colossus samples. If you have access to colossus just add reverb and you'll see what I'm talking about.

| Yup it's really a great thread ....
I would add :
Synth : Sylenth, Tone2 Gladiator, Tone2 Firebird(great one by tone2)
Sound effect vst : Bitcrusher ( it downgrades the bitrate and put some distortion, so that your stuff sounds more gritty, more odschool, more MPC 8bits like)
all the PSP Audioware plugins (for mixing)
Lexicon Pantheon ( very good reverb and very cpu efficient)
Stillwell plugins
UAD plugins
Oxford plugins

Cuz i got some that I like (Cash money , scott storch kit, mann fresh kit, timbaland etc) but I might need to remove things to save space for the new plugins, what you guys think about it?
