| Today, I was sitting in my room listening to some of the beats I had made, trying to write lyrics to them, and I got to thinking. I thought to myself, "Why am I interested in this?" and "What makes me stick to my guns, and pursue a career in hip hop music, both producing and song writing? Especially when I feel like I'm down and out?"
Now I'm asking you this question. What makes you continue to battle on through this industry. What are your muse's, when you just can't get that motivation to make you tick over?
Things happen in our everyday lives that both depress our mood, and also that can uplift us and give us the will to keep pushing through something. Sure, It is a personal question to a degree. And please, dont share if you really feel the need not to. I dont want to try force anything out. But I'm curious to know what make's you guys stick to it, and if there is a deeper will than just wanting the money.
For me, my muse, when I'm low on ideas, low on hope, or just simply tired of not having the success as of yet, is to show the people who doubt me, and who made fun of me when I told them I want to be a producer. And, as cheesy and corney as it sounds, to show a girl, that she made a mistake leaving me.
This is of course, on top of the fact that I love music, and I love doing what I do.
Mods, Please move this if its not in the right Forum, I wasn't sure which one It would fit exactly. And to the rest of you who are happy to share, let them rip =D Thank You.

| for me its purely the fact that i love music, i just think its the most magical thing out there. and pursueing a career in it is only about money to a certain degree, i want money to not have to worry about it. i only want to work on music, and still have financial security, wich by itself is hard to get.
as for inspiration and drive, my drive is to inspire people, like how other artists have inspired me. when im retired/dead, i want the new musicians to go to interviews and talk about how i inspired them to do what they do. if you catch my drift. at any point where im not feeling inspired i will try to listen to something i havnt heard before, i spend alot of time just blankly staring into space while listening to a new record i bought. it can be difficult to find inspiration sometimes tho, when that happens i just need to do something completely different for a while then get back to it. what also drives me sometimes is jealousy, im a jealous type of person, when i see a major producer in a bigass studio that has all the equipment you can wish for, and he's working with truly talented artists and such, i tell myself ''i want that'' ''im need to get that'' ''i will get that'' basically i'd be happy spending 90% of my waking hours in a big studio with a handfull of artists | | | **Hope for the best, Prepare for the worst.**

| Ooh Matt Belemy, oh wait.... Well anyway I think the reason keep at my music is because I just creating the sounds, the feeling when you can see someone enjoying your song is immense. I also spend all my time around brilliant musicians and I'm the only one who can't play an instrument (well) so composing is my outlet of creativity in the world of music I'm surrounded in. | |

| my inspriration comes from musicians whos music just reaches in and touches me. my muses would have to be pink floyd, phil collins, yngwie malmsteen, timbo and the hilltop hoods.
and when im feeling uninspired i take a walk and listen to some tunes, let them take me on a journey and then try and make a song that relflects my own journey.
but you just cant sit there and wait for inspiration coz it wont happen, you have to create it. if that means makin a simple drum beat and saving it and commin back in a couple days to do something else to it. i find a song isnt written in a day no matter how productive or creative you are.
i stick at song writting, and more recently production and engineering, becoz its my passion. and im more then happy to do something i love that only earns my so much. id much rather plug away until im workin in the best environments with the most talented people around and if someone wants to pay me a half mill to do it, thats fine by me lol.
