| I make alot of electronic music and techno, and it seems like this is a more hip-hop based site. Don't get me wrong I love hip-hop, but anyways go to my profile and check out my tune and tell me if its working, I can't get it to play for me!
Take it easy fellas.

| Actually if you search the forums you'll see lots of comments like this. All of those people who posted similar comments would be good to add as friends and clicking on their profile in a forum post is pretty much the only way of reaching somebody that is into the same stuff you are. It's weird that there are so many posts asking if somebody is into something and then that person never starts a real conversation like "did anybody hear the new song___" with a youtube link. I've been turned onto quite a few cool things that I would never have run into myself by people here. The funny thing is whenever I try to have a conversation about it people are rather cagey about what they listen to specifically if it isn't rap or hip hop. Whereas a lot of the hip hop discussions are people argueing about whether somebody sucks or not. Not that interesting to me and I like hip hop and rap. As far as forum posts it's weird, I've seen a lot of posts about whether there is anybody into techno or whatever but nobody ever brings up a band or an album or anything like that. I just think there's a lot less drama to talk about in other electronic musical styles compared to hip hop or rap in the General section of the forum. As far as the more technical Production section of the forum again, I don't see people asking questions with links to youtube videos like "what's the chords in this song" or "how do I get a piano sound like ___". I'm not sure why. I think a lot of people would love a link to a youtube video of some music that your hip to that they might not know about. There's a lot of open minded people here, you might be surprised. What I usually do is when I get a useful comment from someone I look for a post from them in the forum and add them as a friend that way I can shoot them a pm to take a look at something or gab about music or whatever. By the way, I do a very strange combination of Blues/Rock and Electronic music so if you guys think your on your own... just imagine... If I can enjoy the site and have lots of friends that I talk to and ask questions of, I'm sure you're "in the right place". XD -=Rate My Beat=- | | | |

| Hey man join the club. I'm sought of in the same boat, at first I was really put off by the hip hop base of this site and even now a few things annoy me but what I found is this site has a great community (and great beat feedback system) I reckon you should just hang around for a while and check it out before you give up on it. If we get enough techno fuys we can even completely take control of the site lol. | |

| Yeah, I guess, what you want is an Electro, House, Trance room. ^^
But there isn't a real distinction... just that there are many more hiphop heads in here.
What could be good for you guys is making a group since there is the possibility to make some ! So that you can feedback each other and discuss about the subject.

| Thanks for the replies. Ive been looking around and found a few people on the site into electronic music, but yeah it would be nice to have an electronic/techno/house room. Ive already had quite a few good reviews on the 2 songs Ive uploaded, so yeah theres definitely some open minded people out there(they would have to be to like my music ) The thing is I cant limit myself to one genre of music because its too early in the game to tell what I want to make. Ive been working with FL studio only for about 3 months now and I'm loving it, but I'm going to try and learn ableton live as well. Ive made anything from jazzy chillout tunes to hardcore breaks. Ill add all of you guys as friends, as soon as I learn how. haha Peace | | | |

| Wow, three months... that is seriously impressive considering how good your beat sounded. I would have never guessed. I love that filter effect on your track by the way, very cool. | | | |

| Thanks dude, yeah I love fretless too. Can't wait to get a new one.
I gotta get some way to get midi in efficiently first, I can't play keys for ish!
I don't know, "you like it so hot" got so much good feedback maybee I should concentrate on some different guitars and basses but I guess I'm just trying to "fit in" right now. XD

| Haha I hear ya man. Im using a Dean Fretless, and for $300 the pickups on it were verrry good. Has a good Jaco growly sound, if you know who that is. Ill see if I can find an old video of me playing and throw it on youtube. | | | |

| Dean? My man! I'm big time Dean man myself, very underated IMO. Yeah I used to teach Jazz bass years ago so I'm familiar with Jaco, great sound. I don't know anybody who plays fretless who ain't influenced by him at least a little. I'd love to check out the vid man. Always up for some gear/chops envy.
By the way are you recording directly into FL Studio? I haven't tried that yet I ususally use Acid. Do you use the loop record function? It looks cool, seems like it would save a lot of time if it works good. Just wondering cause I haven't seen a lot of people talking about live recording of instruments here a lot and I kind of wondered how easy it was.

Peace Hey man, toss me a link, I'd love to hear what you do. I've discovered that you can get some pretty positive feedback putting out techno on this site though you do run into problems with people just saying, "umm this isn't really my style" I can promise you'll get a few of them and you just have to ignore them.

| Yeah jaco's the man.
Im using FL studio mainly as a vst host, running alot of vst instruments but Ive also recorded some electric bass and guitar. Ive used acid pro too, thats a good program. I'm running on a dell right now, Id like to get a mac but I don't have that kind of money at the moment. Ive heard logic studio is great. I used to have a mbox mini from m-audio, or something like that, and it recorded a direct line from guitar or a place for a microphone, but I got rid of it because it wasn't supported by vista. If I record instruments now its through my microphone jack on my laptop. Its not the best quality but it works for now.
And as far as loop record, I don't have a midi keyboard.I keep delaying getting one because I don't know which one I want to get! plus i want to make the right choice. So right now I'm drawing all those notes in with a mouse.
I love electronic music but I want to add some instruments to make it sound unique. And if by some chance I do start playing places I want to have instruments to play and overdub over the music I'm spinning on turntables.
