I hate hip hop, rap, pop, jazz, etc. But my favorites are rock, metal, hardrock, screamo, and any others like that

I used to "hate" styles of music.  I used to feel like this before going to college and being forced to listen to a lot of styles of music.  I used to feel this way before I started playing music for a living and I had to learn a style of music or starve. You can make a lot more money if you find out how to at least "appreciate" all styles.  In a "ethnomusicological sense" almost every style of music on your hate side is at least "cousins" to the stuff on your "favorites" side.  In fact, I am sure if you start reading interviews of your favorite musicians or talk to them, you will find that quite a few of them love the styles you hate.

I went through a period of my life where I made a lot of money making music and trust me... keep that kind of stuff to yourself.  The people who would have liked you because you like the same type of music they do would have liked you with the second half of your statement.  Quite a few of those same people will be turned off by the first half.  There is no reason to put yourself in that position.

Furthermore, coming to an electronic music site and stating that you don't like hip hop?   Umm... how did you think that was going to go over?  If you are honestly not trolling and you really are a musician or producer or use FLStudio I would suggest if you ever wish to "make it" keep that kind of stuff to yourself, not just here but everywhere.

I have seen many musicians loose gigs with statements like this, gigs that they had in the palms of their hands...  People are verrrry sensitive about the music they love.  Hate is a verrrry strong word.

The only common thread that I see in the two sides you've choosen is that the styles of music on the left are predominately played by African-Americans (or at least "originated by them" except pop) while the styles on the right are... well, let's just call them verrrrry closely related musically to the styles on the left so I'm trying to figure out the hate.  I hope that this is not going where I think it is.... I really do.

Hmmn.... if not, (to further rip off T.I.)  I hope he enjoys his stay.

Good observation, I probably should've looked at it that way.  Just kind of a weird post.
