| ...Or do you just work with pure software? Personally, I work with a Yamaha YPT-210 which is only a very limited beginner's keyboard but I'm planning on buying a Korg X50 within the next few months. Looking forward to see what setups people have. | | | |

| Personally I don't have one, wish I did. Just wondering what the advantage is in having a better keyboard if you're using it for composing not perforing? | |

| You should def get one even if it is only a small MIDI keyboard. They help improve your knowledge in music theory and all that. You also can come up with a melody before you even turn on the computer and open up a sequencer.
My current keyboard only has its own sounds. No tweaking, pitch bending, etc. so I'm very limited. I've been watching videos on the X50 and its sound editor can be used as a VST plugin which made me really excited because Korgs are known for quality sound.
That, and I would like to perform some of my pieces live. Maybe even join a band. I'm leaving my options open.

| Naa don't really need one. Already pretty good with theory and have a piano is the other room. But I find it's easier coming up with my melodies on the computer then on the piano anyway. | |

| i have a korg nano midi, its a good buy if u don't got a couple 100's for the good ones. its 25 keys but has octave up/down buttons to allow usage of all 88 keys, pitch bend, tweakin, and cc control (i have no idea what that is, but it has it), all for 50 dollars. its a great keyboard for someone who is lookin to buy one. | | | DADE COUNTY THA BEST!!!!!

| How is keyboards for pussies?
CC Control (I searched for it, don't know if it's right): "allows control of over both external gear and internal sequencers" ....whatever that means

| same here, i jus got this keyboard about 6 months ago. XD. they dont make beats sound better, but it does allow you to do somethings you couldn't do or would have trouble doin on a computer keyboard like playing chords or recordin with dynamics and velocity control. | | | DADE COUNTY THA BEST!!!!!

| I own a MicroKorg synth. It's a midranged board, but the sounds are fat, highly customizable, diverse, and definitely worth the cash. The keys are not weighted, which is the major issue I have with it, but it still works well as a MIDI controller and has a pretty strong construction.
