I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE MOTIVE BEHIND HIS STATEMENT STEMS FROM... I LIKE EVERYONE ELSE CAN GUESS, BUT EVEN AN EDUCATED GUESS IS STILL "SPECULATION". tOO BAD HE DID NOT ELABORATE ON HIS STANCE... BUT ONE THING WE DID SEE IN THE VIDEO; HE WAS SITTING IN FRONT OF A MONITOR AND IT "APPEARED" THAT HE WAS "EDITING" A TRACK (MANIPULATING TO SAY THE LEAST)... SO PERHAPS HE IS NOT ANTI-SOFTWARE BUT MORE "PROFESSIONAL, FOUND IN THE STUDIOS MAJOR LABELS/RECORD COMPANIES ENDORSE" SOFTWARE.

DO MAJOR RECORD COMPANIES AND LABELS ENDORSE FRUITY LOOPS? DO THEY HAVE FL 8 ON THE RACK? MAYBE THAT IS WHERE HE IS COMING FROM??? STILL, SPECULATION. BUT I HAVE TO GIVE IT TO MY BRUTHA QUICK.. HE IS GANGSTA! I SAW HIM AT THE LOCAL PROBATION OFFICE A FEW MONTHS BACK; COOL AS ish... WALKED IN, WENT STRAIGHT TO THE BACK, NO ONE F'D WITH HIM AND HE WAS OUT! LOL... I ALSO SAW HIM AT A AWARDS SHOW ON THE RED CARPET ALMOST FIGHTING "PO PO" BECAUSE ONE OF HIS HOMIES WAS BEING HARASSED. THEY GAFFLED HIM UP AND WAS REMOVING HIM (QUICK) FROM THE AREA TO THE CHANTS OF THE CROWD...

"GO QUICK, GO QUICK, GO QUICK!"

HE TALKS THE TALK BUT WALKS THE WALK... AND FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, WHEN YOU ARE UNAFRAID OF THE POSSIBILITIES AND USED TO BEING "F'D WITH" AFTER A WHILE YOU...

JUST
DON'T
GIVE
A
"F"

Ahah yeah, for real you met him ? Nice [edit] hmmh probation offices, like you both were on probation ?? oh lol maybe not so nice, my bad !

Was about to write a long message but in fact, I don't give a F about Quik either... May he continues to make hot stuff, may I have the chance to make some hot stuff on fruity as well :p
Who truly cares... (but the part abt being gangsta, if he is not a clever gangsta like Pac' was, well you know what, I don't give a ish abt that either.. and I think you are clever enough to understand that)

He has his opinion and I understand finally... for him the processed sound coming out of a mpc being in 12 Bit or so might sound better even mixed afterwards in Protools...
He could have said the same thing abt something made in cubase, sonar or samplitude... but fruity is an easy target...

Well he is kinda dissing 9th, Premo, Pete Rock... who all kinda incorporated software in their workflow...

I get your point crystal clear,

Why dont Major Use fruity ? Well the programming is sometimes made on fruity by some producer, but at the studio, since Protools is the industry standard (at least in the US) for mixing, better have something compatible... And it's also a question of "hype"

That's without saying that fruity sucks at recording...
Everything is maximized toward the end product which is the record and Protools excels at it...
If you ask me, Reason should be absent as well since it doesnt record and doesnt accept vsts
And anyway, tracks are prolly bounced as wav. files...

@Haze : nobody really cares, but when somebody attacks you on something you like, you will naturally defend it right ? And we can defend a lil more here than on futureproducer, it won't turn into drama like there lol ...

LOL!!! Yeah I saw him at the po's office... didn't meet him though persay. I was standing in the lobby when he walked passed me (very small lobby) and I was just taking it all in as to how things were arranged for him to walk right in, be served immediately, be separated from everyone else and basically get special treatment I suppose. Its all good though because I am an interested 'admirer' of His. I grew up in So Cal where things that he writes about are vvery relative. I do not have enough personal knowledge of the man to really determine who/what he is but from a stand point of living a life as he writes about or just promoting an image to sell records it is well known the DJ Quick is one of the realist.

here in So Cal we are very fortunate that our ghetto heros and artist who have made a name for themselvs still reside or do personal biz in the hood. it is no big deal to see snoop, dre', DJ Quick, 2Pac (R.I.P.?) etc hitting corners right in the hood. Hell, you can catch Snoop at any given football field coaching and inspiring his football team for kids. Mack 10 still working low low's and dealing in custom cars... So they either had to come correct with the lifestyle they lived or get no love from the true playa's who knew the game and knew they were bullsh!t'n. 2Pac came hard as hell because of his "activist" upbringing and lived his life full throttle, rough and raw. He told the story as he lived it and that's why I have mad love for Tupac! But even Pac had different sides and was not 100% gang bang'n each and everyday... sh!t man, do some research on youtube regarding real interviews of Pac... you will see different "Pac's"... one raw, aggressive, wild, balling out of control... then you see a poetic, sensitive, caring, almost "docile" Tupac. (how did I get here LOL!!!!, when we were talking about Quick??)

all in all I think if an artist does not follow the trend of technology he is truly limiting himself and his days are numbered.... to knock technology in its state of the art is ingorant. I think you are correct when you mention ProTools as being the acceptable software in the industry. It sure makes moving between studios and production teams sooooo much easier.

sorry for the long wind this morning...

At the end of the day, noone cares where your beat comes from as long as it's hot ish.

I can't understand why other producers are hating on FLStudio. It's just perfect for a beginner to mess around with and have fun at the same time.
If you watch the red bull big tune events, you can see that many of the producers are using FLStudio to create beats. And these cats are the funking elite and upcoming top producers. And some of them have nothing else than a crappy laptop, FLStudio, a midi keyboard and their samples.

It's the same thing with busta rhymes. In a interview on youtube he says something about the easiness of making music nowadays because of all the software you can buy and stuff. It's basically him saying, that he doesn't like how someone "new" can come by and make a ill beat with only a pc and a midi keyboard.
I guess most of the top producers think, that it's not fair, that they spend so much money on a high quality studio to make the murder beats and at the same time some dude is doing the same ish in his basement with a laptop and a keyboard...

For me that's just ignorant. How can you hate on somebody if he's here for the same reason? At the end of the day, everyone is doing it for the love of music. But all the million dollar top producers are acting like they would get replaced with that dude in the basement cuz he can do the same beats with like nothing...so they keep hating to not get pushed away from new cats...
