You could say that I am relatively new to producing. I have been a musician for sometime and know the basics of engineering but that's about it. So now that I am running FL 8XXL I am noticing that my mixes and mastering are in need of some serious fine tuning. I was just wondering (and I am sure there are tutorials somewhere) can anyone give me a quick run down on:

Compression
Limiter
Send

usage? I would really like to make my trax sound as though they were professionally mastered. How do I get that radio sound quality?

google my man. Its crazy how much I learned by researching stuff myself. There are awesome articles out there. Just take your time with it. post specific questions in the mixing forum.

watch some tutorials from this very peaceful Warbeats site, and just play around with things... until you get to know exactly what you're doing.
with mastering will be, somehow easier than with mixing, because you just have one track BUT you got to pay attention - it can make the beat shine or it can destroy it.

I suggest you to get iZotope Ozone 4 for mastering, it makes it alot easier.
