NFX,

I believe you may have covered this in one of the tutorials, but how do you add velocity points to a sustained note?  I have a long horn part that I want to swell in and then back out.

Thanks

underneath the notes in piano roll you will see yellow lines going up. those are the velocity points and at the tips of them there will be a dot, click on it and move it up or down for louder and softer. if you want your horns to biuld up. put the starting volocities lower and make the next one a little higher and higher. for a visual watch the hi hat and snare rolls tutorial.

Alt,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I checked out the tut. again.  I need to add velocity points to one long note.  I can edit the velocity like he has in the tut. It's like a 4 beat sustained note that needs to swell. Any suggestions?

It is actually a soundfont and I'm using the FLStudio soundfont player.

The velocty events are only for specific notes

The best bet is to use the channel volume envelope. I can't really explain it without pictures, but you can draw in the curve you want to use and get the exact swell timing down.
