Everything that filter does you can do with eq right? My question is whay we need filters then?

There have some similiarites but are two different things. I'll let someone else explain this cause I'm not good at explanations.

Techincally they server the same function, that is to modify the frequencies spectrum. The difference is how they are applied. Filters are kind of like preset EQ curves. Filters usually involve cutting freqs instead of boosting them though you can do both. Filters usually have a cutoff frequency as well which makes sweeping the curve and finding the sweet spot much more convenient than doing it with a 30-band EQ for example.

30 band eq, do you have a plugin for that. ive never seen them that big before.

Audition has one built in.. Actually it's programmable so you could have a 20-band or 7-band and set all the slider freqs, etc.. I never use it tho.
