I just bought FL Studio 5.  Is anyone using FL Studio inside Sonar or another host program.  I want to either trigger the sounds and sequence in Sonar or I will lay out the whole drum track in FL Studio, then dump the tracks into Sonar to mix with my vocals.  What is the best way to set it up? (dxi multi-output or rewire) It syncs up with Sonar fine, but I can't figure out how to trigger sounds or dump the tracks.  If I can't trigger the sounds, that's fine. I have no problem sequencing my drums in FL, but I need to dump the tracks.

Thanks in advance,

I just record the wave in Sonar and work from there. I have not yet found a way around this - I just record the wave and mute FL

Kuxx,

By record the wave, do you mean just bounce to track in Sonar?

Thanks,

yeh i use those 2 progs too. what i do is record the beat in fl. EQ it best as possible, then drag it over to sonar because it copies the wav file into the sonar directory, then master it in sonar with iZotope ozone....then export to wav then drop to cd done deal!!

Hey,

What do you mean by drag it over? Do you mix and render a wav file in Fl Studio and then just import the stereo drum wav in Sonar.  Or do you eq and dump the individual tracks into Sonar?  I would rather still have the individual tracks in Sonar so I can balance the mix of the drums with the rest of the tracks.  I don't like committing until I am ready for the final/mastering.

Thanks for the info.

u can either balance it in fl studio and then bounce to new track on sonar or u can render each individual pattern and export to wav files then drop in all new tracks on sonar
