So yeah, i been getting back at sampling alot lately, and i wanna try combining sampling and composing.
The problem is, when i got some chops playing, it becomes hard to compose on that as i dont know the schale of the sample im using.

so what i wanted to ask is, how do most of you work when trying to figure out the schale of a song?

going trough every key in an octave trying to figure out wich sounds right and wich sounds wrong kinda numbs my ears after a while xD plus it is not easy to the untrained ear.

yea i do that, then go to the chord house site and find scales that have all those keys in and generally there will only be one or two so your bound to be right lol. then you can build chords and stuff with a bit more confidence

Chord house used to have virus popups for me too, but just recently they fixed it. Unless it happened again.

"my method: going trough every key in an octave trying to figure out wich sounds right and wich sounds wrong "

best method there is. when u get real good, u can just figure it out by ear. if ur singer, it even easier.
