Sup folks.. i know by now everybody is diggin into the new FL and i know theres a thread already about people thoughts and such but specifically interested in knowing how the new FL integrated with FL8 ... In the since of, i've read by defualt FL9 installs itself to its own folder and can co-exsist with FL8 .. but

How is the switch going for you guys?

has anybody tryed installing it OVER FL8? or did u have to migrate things manually?

did u uninstall FL8?

are ur other vsts working good for ya?

any problems with installation or backward compatibility at all?

do your FL8 skins work?

custom presets working?

Just wanna get some overall feedback on how things are working out for others

I can answer two questions right away:

1. No .flps that are opened in FL 9 are not backward compatible with other versions at all. Many things can go wrong if you try to load them, but basically things will not do as desired.
&
2. FL 8 skins will not work because there are changes made to the interface of FL. Most skins will be updated eventually, check the Skin Tank forum over @ http://www.theflipsideforum.com or check into the skin thread in the FLStudio section here run by Jared from FLipside.

I did it two ways, afer uninstalling on my first computer (Vista) I noticed FL9 gets installed to it's own directory so I installed it in addition to FL 8 on my second computer... no problems going back and forth (other than the inability to open FL9 files in FL 8).

All my VSTs are working fine (so far).

It opens my channel presets and such.

They moved how you get to preset banks for 3rd party synths like Cheeze Machine... haven't figured out how to get to em yet in FL 9.
