i do pretty good a make 5 hundred amonth right now just off sales online on diffrent sites that allow u to sell beats a couple good ones are rocbattle.com/ mybeatshop.com /beats4tracks.com /makehitmusic.com/coldbeats.com/ beatswagger.com/ and built4beats.com but ther upgrading right now all of these sites are good to join so join all if u can the best whit to promote your beats id sugguest is on myspace go get the program called friend blaster and grab friends from music pages like rap artist and such and add them up make sure to show case ur music on your myspace and also soundclick is good but make sure u cut ur beats down to samples on like 1:30 sound click dont provide audio protection and ive been ripped off a couple times on there and as far as me i just lease the beat and let the artist do whatever with it a good price to lease ya tracks online is $10 it might seem low but it adds up quick if you have good beats and a good promotion scheme just keep leasing them i dont do exclusive rights online i think u could make more money leasing all tracks for $10 vs on waiting 3 mths are longer to buy Ur track for 100 because dudes is cheap online hope this helps u.

I made 300$ for this month for now but I think it's good when you make about 2k $.About the deal it depends if the artist is signed they send you the contract if not you have to prepare it.

lol thats the BEAT SCOUTING! part of a producer. lol. if ur gonna sell, u gotta scout out ur opponents and figure what THEY do that causing them to sell more. Once u get that, work on it and progress further then them.

funk... i don't sample...lol And its not beat scouting its a question...lol Cos i don't see anybody as my opponents... Cos than i would not try to help people or answear any of their questions. In music business 1 hit can secure ur life so i think there is space for everybody.
Seeing people as opponents and not as friedns who can help u gets u nowhere. Thats why i think WB group will not make it. Cos alot of people are sceptical and see the group like bounch of people trying to steal their talent and not like opportunity to work with best producers on wb and actualy make something

well i didnt really mean opponents as a "person taking ur bizz", "evil" or something of that sort. I ment it as other fellow producers or producers that sell alot. Look at what they do that makes them sell, what kind of beats do u c that has ALOT of plays, which ones have SOLD written on it, because of exclusive sales. Ya kno?

Not really.Every artist looks for different stuff

Look up the soundclick charts for beats...probably more than 70% of the ppl there are doing newschool dirty south, crunk 808 type of beats. Maybe 5-10 major beat-makers who do sampled music.

I don't see artists looking for different stuff. I see artists being afraid of trying something different.

@Saha:
Yea but what do you do after "scouting" other beat-makers? Try to do similar work just to get more sales?
Try to imitate a style just to please other ppl?
Why not come up with some sort of a own style...

Not relating to you with that or anything...don't get me wrong.
I mean this hole situation with mainstream hip hop nowadays on all the beat-making internet sites.

questions for wemo basically. if most of your big sellers are sampled beats, you ever cleared any samples or done anything along the legal side of things regrading them?
