Hmm if I had to spend it probably a midi keyboard, maybe some new cricket gear don't really know what else. $1000 is to much just to go spending on crap but not really enough to get anything I want.

I'd probably buy a new punching bags kit and new mma gloves, and hockey sticks to finish the year. If it has to be music related, I'd go with an MPK49, more memory and a better soundcard for my computer. How about you NFX, if you're still reading this? What would you get?

i would do one of these 2 things

1 - get this studio equipment package

http://www.zzounds.com/item--ZZOMULTIACC

plus mixer

http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHXENYX1202FX

plus this keyboard

http://www.zzounds.com/item--NOVXIO25

which leaves me wit about 50 bucks 2 get all the cables and ish

or number 2

put a down payment on a building 2 start my studio, cuz recording from your house is not the most professional of scenes.

so it's between a studio location or studio equipment

maybe nfx is gonna give $1000 to one of us. a boy can dream can he. XD

i was thinking the same thing, but at the same time i think its just to get us to start thinking about a future in production. You cant go somewhere until you decide where you are going.

Already have a MPC Altough I wouldn't mind a 1K aswell for portability. That said here are some toys from amazon. Just a random list of nice gear really (and way over 1k aswell).

FIRST THE CANDY FOR THE MAN ON THE GO:

Killer laptop with a 13" screen for ultra portability:
http://www.amazon.com/Pavilion-DV3-2150US-13-3-Inch-Entertainment-Laptop/dp/B002BH4ON4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1251410590&sr=8-1

Portable TT, great for those crate adventures:
http://www.amazon.com/Numark-PT01USB-Turntable/dp/B001ECQ6PG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1251410525&sr=8-3
or

Audio interface for the laptop on the go:

The MPC 1K:

Pads and keys for the lappy:

I'd try to double my cash in limit texas hold em, get a lucky streak, then get the bright idea to why not just play some no limit, and lose it all the same day going all-in with 2 aces pre-flop, getting called instantly by some dude with deuces or some ish.

I just wrapped up my final investments in gear this past week, and If I was any of you guys, trying to get the best gear you can in a tight budget, I'd get this.

(Trust me, anyone who talks to me on AIM knows ive damn near tried EVERYTHING. Dont believe me, ask taylorbuddah, bdot, knowledge, saha, or 2ndMan lol)

So first of all get yourself a nice midi keyboard, the key number is up to you, but an MPK or Axiom will do just fine.

2ndly, Get a GOOD audio interface. Im currently using M-Audios brand new Profire 610 which is perfect.

3rdly, MONITORS. Yes, you'll be happy with any KRK or Mackies. Even M-audios. Any of those monitors can mix, its just up to your ears to learn them. Alot of people put their monitors in the (WE THE BEST) catagory JUST because they BOUGHT them.

4th, (or maybe if 2nd) some good headphones! I dont know why ANYBODY would ever consider buying headphones for 300$+ when they can spend that much money on monitors. I use my headphones for late night beat making (pause) lmao or any other times I may need them.
So which headphones u ask?

The first "good" cans i bought were the Sennheiser HD 280's, which were really good, until the ear cups leather got torn. I started seeing alot of studios sporting the Sony MDR-7506's and decided to give them a shot, and they are really the better of the two.

For one, they dont get your ears all sweaty liek the sennheisers do, and 2ndly, the sound clarity. MDL also likes these. (Y)

As for software, I recently bought a Mac, (best investment I've ever made) which led to me buying Logic Studio 9. Im really diggin logic so far as well.

But Reason 4 is nice, but does have its grueling LIMITATIONS.

And of course FL studio, which I used to use to sample, now im using an MPC2500.

***BONUS*** Look, I know everyone loves their PC's, but COME ON! We ALL know they have problems, and only last about a year or 2. Trust me I built a TOP NOTCH PC and I thought it would last me forever, but soon ran into its share of annoying, jackass, slow ass, crashing ass, problems.

All im saying is, you can save yourself from all this BS, and just buy a MAC. I recently purchased a brand new 3.06 GHZ, 4 GB RAM, iMac 24' and its quite frankly the best investment ive made so far in production. Its just flat out fast. No BS here or there it just gets the job done. Hell, i had so many PC problems it practically made me a GEEK cause i ended up figuring EVERYTHING out about PC's.

Well, my rant ends about here, but if you are considering getting a PC, although alot of RAM is nice, make sure you have a nice PROCESSOR! Those are so key it isnt even funny. Intel processsors are nice if you can.

But thats all folks!

P.S. (you guys joking about this thread should take it seriously cause you never know...NFX could be bringing christmas early to someone............just a thought lol)
