| most soundfonts are instruments.
hypersonic is good for hip hop. i use it all the time.
sampletank is a good vst, i just don't like using the effects INSIDE the program as much as i do routing it to the mixer and using the effects there. i do this with hypersonic too.
also check out vanguard, sylenth1, and albino3. you can find preset packs for these all over the net as well. but also check out the soundfonts. there are a lot of good ones out there and MOST of them are free. so you can save you some money. sometimes it's not about how much you spend..but what you do with what you have.
make ya beats with FL and just tell folks you use protools and a Triton...you'll be fine. lmao

| yeah sampletank is way overrated if ya ask me, i think i actually mentioned that in my vst thread, but thats my opinion.. all these fancy vst's spoiled me with clear stereo mixed sounds that are ready to go that something like sampletank doesnt catch my eye anymore
vst's i would reccomend are Nexus (the editing is not that great, but doable, and the sounds are crazy), albino 3 (you cant go wrong there, albino is off the hook), and NI Massive (expensive, but amazing)
theres also tons of free ones on the list, use those first then decide wether to lay down money for a big one.. itll also help you to know what your looking for when purchasing a vst, scoping out the free ones and looking at demo's or reviews of the $$$ ones will do you good, you dont wanna spend all your doe and get dissapointed now do ya? :p

i'm not sure where you can download hypersonic from. i "heard" it's been discontinued...but i'm sure if you google it, you can find some legitimate places that still sell it. same with Albino 3. and i agree..nexus is another good one to have. you also might want to look into some orchestra vsti's. you got edirol orchestral and miroslav philharmonik. i hear East/West has a good orchestral vsti as well. | | yep yep
