Hey Everybody,
Will Pro Tools run on a Vista 64 Bit system?  My friend that works at a music store says yes but on pro tools website, they say no.  Is anyone currently running PT or FLStudio on Vista 64 Bit?
                                             Thanks

As far as i know pro tools is not 64 bit but 64 bit vista does run 32 bit software. I have FLStudios on my 64 bit computer and it runs fine. I am not really familiar with pro tools but from what i hear protools requires external hardware to run it and if the drivers for that hardware are not 64 bit compliant you may run into problems.

Protools wil run on vista, however only one version will run on 64bits and that is the Protools M-Powered.

It's funny how the industry standart digidesign has not gotten around to fix working 64 bit drivers for their software/hardware. It's not like it came about last week. The M-Powered runs on 64 bit, because M-audio provides 64bit drivers for their hardware.

Settled?

i would just go with what the digidesign website gives you.

if it says it doesn't run on 64 bit, then it doesn't...

no need in trying it and coming across problems...

me personally...give me xp.
yep yep
