Yeah 10$ per month isnt that much money but still is kinda expensive... Ill def do that tho, but whan (and if) i do beats for atleast 3 pages and find myself good graphic designer, cos payeing just so i can change color of my soundclick page is pointless

^ Exactly... You gotta prepare adequately before upgrading.. otherwise the whole thing is pointless.. You gotta offer the eye something too.. Make it look somewhat pro.. cuzz that's gon' give a first impression...

Imma tell you guys what I did...

First thing I did.. was connect with mah dude "Gagong Pinoy" (friend of mine, and also one of the best C Walkers on tha face of tha earth).. He made me a nice background picture for my community pages (see my avatar. I have a big ass version of it).. He made me a banner (see my sig) and he also made a header for my soundclick (which now don't work. Friggin' soundclick x_x')..

** Note this was before I updated the page

Next thing I did was write down my leasing rights, exlusive rights, rights for my free beats and lastly the rights for custom made beats. Each type of purchase has a detailed description on the terms and conditions. This is real important. Cuzz people wanna know what they are buying.. Just as you do when you gon' buy something in a music store for instance..

After I had that covered. I started signing up on every community page I could find (still have a lot of signing up to do lol..). You know all the 'primary' ones, myspace, soundclick, mybeatshop, pickabeat.net, twitter, etc.. etc..

After that I also got myself a speedyshare account for the downloads. I'll get back to you on why I did that. I also wired my personal bank account to PayPal. Via PayPal I made my personal "Pay" button. (Check my soundclick).

The reason for these two things is simply the customers. As we all know if we see something on the net in this case beats, we do not want too much hassle in purchasing the thing. I made it very simple for my beatbuyers to buy an instrumental from me. They just go to my site, pick a beat they like. Go to the paypal button and choose the type of purchase they wanna make. After that they only have to fill in the name(s) of the instrumental(s) and make the money order. As soon as I get the money order. I send them the link (from my speedyshare account) of the desired instrumental. I upload the tracking outs to my speedyshare account too. It's real handy. No hassle with sending CD's n'ish. They just do a instant download. They instantly happy ya digg ?

What I learned from the sellmorebeats.com is a few simple things..
For instance. Give TITLES to your beats.. Might sound stupid, but giving titles to your beats makes them more unique. Translates the essence you felt when you made the beat into words, and that can connect with the listener. For example if I put a beat online with the title "Knock ém Down". You expect something street, some music that makes you stomp some people. The fact that you saw the title you get a certain feeling, and if the beat corresponds with your feeling, you gon' like it even more, you can relate to it. This is a small factor that contributes in the final decision of making a purchase.

Also pick one price and keep your pricing consisstent (lol did I write that right?).. Keeping the pricing consisstent will build a form of trust with your beatbuyers which will result in them coming back regurly cuzz they know you charge an 'x,xx' figure for your tracks and it never changes. Also in your pricing make the amount somewhat unique. For example. instead of selling leases for $ 40,- try puttin a price in of $ 39,- or $ 39,99. This is also a pull-factor for getting potential beatbuyers to your page. Another scenario: When browsing the charts, peepz see al kinds of "rounded up" prices like $ 40,- and $ 50,- and so fort, and then another price popps up of $ 39,99. Without even wanting it your eye will immediately catch that. only that puts you a leap before your competition. Cuzz after they look @ the price they read the description and even listen to ur beat and because of that you might have another potential beatbuyer =D.

These are just a few pointers from sellmorebeats.com and they really work! So i'm gon' find out more about this by purchasing the program ya digg ^.^

You gotta go to PayPal.com and go into the FAQ Section. They describe it there.

^ Damn my quote got posted but my post itself was lost XD... I'm sorry bout that x_x' ...
Anyways what I said is you can just electronically save your own autograph into the form and reserve a place for them to sign. After they send you the form you can send them your beat, and yes you can do it for both leasing and exclusive rights.
Btw you can use my terms and condition I wrote on my page. Its all good ...

a vi souncick page doesnt sound that special to me, all it does is put up links on other peoples pages right?

i think the best way to do it is to have your own website..

i send contracts off with my sig and have the artist/manager/whoever is paying sign the forms by printing off the pdf and faxing/emailing it back to me.

i basically laid out the basics of what i wanted in my contract and had a copyright/registration lawyer draw up a draft for me. then she explained everything in it and how it would look out for me and the customer. she also gave me tips on how to explain certain things to the customer so they would understand what everything meant.

it was really helpful.

but first thing you got to do to sell your beats is get out there. honestly, i wouldn't start out on the net. find some locals who want to get beats for about 10 to 25 a pop. then you get the final song and showcase the ENTIRE SONG. for some reason other artists always believe they can rip a beat better than another artist already on it. play on the ego factor...and they'll want to do work with you if they like the song anyways.

this also shows the artist that you sold the beat to, that (as the producer) you are willing to put their music out there (when you'll really just putting your own music out there) so they will be willing to do more business with you.

yep yep
