how bout we do a mixtape release to build up hype to the actual album release?
the mixtape can feature everybody from warbeats and the album will feature the best of the best

thats cool idea becouse the new producers can lear from collabs 2..

i know u got your "main producers" set. what u could do is on certain trax let some of the less experienced guys ( like me) get in on the producing or whatever. that way u still have your main group, who work on the main trax and still let the rest of us get in on it too. working with some of the greats on this site could really help us newer people.

Well, I'm getting the beatdown stuff all finalized and ready.

A couple months ago, I opened the idea of a "Warbeats Music Group" to the mods and the Warbeats badge you see in the Beatdown 2009 invite was spawned from that discussion. In my mind it would be like a Wu-Tang for beatmakers. You could belong to it and participate but still do your own thing. I'm not trying to say that what this should be, just that I have been thinking about something like this for a while.

The mixtape idea has been around for a long long time. The biggest obstacle is getting rappers/acapellas to remix. I don't want to redo known acapellas and it would be great if we could do all original stuff. I would definitely host the files for free and promote the crap out of it.

After the battle is done, we should really firm this up. Hopefully by then the profiles will be working and we can create a group for all of us and maybe even a private forum, etc..

yeah i think this should be the next big warbeats project AFTER the tournament
since we're all focusing on that for now, we should put this on hold until we have the time to really dive into this and pick it up
dont wanna be starting this and trying to make beats for the battle as well, that would just get too complicated

also u should call the mixtape the arrival, and the album the takeover.

but we wont make any definite decisions at this stage as we still have to find some kind of balance before we even start on this project
but i like the idea of incorporating warbeats into the name, maybe not something so literal but something that definately refers to the WB

sorry i didnt read every post on this. But the thing is, idk about u guys. but this can get VERY VERY hectic, maby someone doesnt like what another person did to there melo, and gets pissed and then so on and so forth. Im not really good with online collabs. But the thing im worried about is the madness of ideas. Im reading 2m's response. I would prefere doing a WB mixtape more than a single beat/s. It should showcase more of the WB community and have great use for promo.

btw if a mixtape goes down, i rap and sing. so hola.

Eventhough he lives here in the netherlands, a german label wanted to sign him and wanted him to tell the world he was from the states for his ' image ' lol... but yea this dude is great... I'll contact him right before the end of the beatdown to see if he's down..

yeah i agree with you Saha about the possible conflict over a certain change in a beat
but the beauty of it is, if 2 people disagree then we can just cancel out that one and the original composer of the melody can pass it on to somebody else in which they both might agree on it

i know most of you have probably heard of the metal band 'slipknot'?
well their record label 'roadrunner records' done this album called 'roadrunner united' which is pretty much what i want to happen
what they did was assigned 4 team captains and they all made like 4 songs each, every one of them with different members from different bands
so every single song had a different group of artists collaborating on a track, thats kinda how we should get it done

4 team captains with 57 artists', going to have to see if I can have a listen to this.

it was released with a dvd showcasing how it was all done, we may be able to find it on youtube to share with everyone to get some ideas on how we can get it done also

This must be very well organized if this can be something good. Like Slavebell said we first need to see who is really in, and document that, and make some kind of planning, I can do this if everyone agrees, then ill make a website with a sign up form so i can get everyones details into a database and work from there. Just let me know.
