NFX - Finding the Sweet Spot

Sometimes we have great individual sounds and we put them together in a mix but they don't gel as good as they should. You might need to find the sweet spot of the sound and make it more predominant. Or maybe you need to find the sound that is causing problems and cut it's sour spot in the frequency spectrum. Learn about this in the following video.

I once did mastering for a mixtape and I hated it. It is not an easy job. Mastering is basically putting the final touches on a series of songs to make all sound relatively equal in loudness and quality.

I developed my own quick and dirty method with reasonably good results and I share the techniques and my thought in the following video.

LoudnessWar - Demonstration of over compression

This is an excellent demonstration of how compression can take the life out of sound. Hip hop music is less effected by this because it's supposed to be loud and in your face, but I have seen people overdo it with hip hop as well.
